Toothbrush holder, made to measure

Measure the widest handle you want to stand in it with a calliper, say how many sockets and how tall, and we draw a holder with a round socket for each one, sized from your figure with the clearance you pick. Each socket can have a small hole in the bottom so water runs out, and a thin rim round the base widens the foot. It prints standing up with no supports.

What you need to hand

  • A calliper for the widest handle you want to stand in it, across its widest part.
  • How many sockets, and how tall you want the holder.
  • Your nozzle size and the filament you will print it in.
Your toothbrushes

How many sockets, and the widest handle you want to stand in one, measured with a calliper across its widest part.

One socket per toothbrush (or tube, or razor), in a single row.
mm
Measure the widest handle you want to stand in it with a calliper, across its widest part, over the length that goes into the socket. Every socket is sized from this one figure.
The holder

How tall, how far apart the sockets are, the drain holes and the base rim. The clearance and the floors are under Finer adjustments.

mm
From the counter to the top of the sockets.
mm
The distance from the edge of one socket to the next. More keeps the heads further apart and makes the holder longer.
A small hole in the floor of each socket so water runs out onto whatever the holder stands on.
mm
A thin plate around the bottom, this far beyond the holder on every side. Set 0 for none.
The printer it will come off

Set these to the nozzle you will print with and the filament you will use; what is filled in is only our usual setting. The nozzle decides whether the walls and the floors come out the thickness we drew. The filament does not change the model.

The nozzle you will print with. It does not change the model — it decides whether the walls and the floors come out the thickness we drew.
Only a note on where each filament suits. It does not change the model.
Finer adjustments
mm
How much wider than the handle we draw each socket, across. More drops in more easily and leaves it leaning a little more.
mm
The solid floor under each socket. Thicker is stiffer and takes longer to print.
