Corner cap, made to measure for your table top

Measure how thick your table top is at the corner and we will cut a cap that slides over it: a plate above, a plate below and a band round the two edges, with the outside corner rounded to the radius you choose. The slot is drawn a little wider than your top so it goes on by hand. It prints on its side, with no supports.

Rendered at our default measurements — yours comes out to your numbers.
What you need before you start

What it will take

  • Thickness of the table top: 10–60 mm
  • Length of each arm: 25–100 mm
  • Outside corner radius: 2–30 mm
  • Nozzle size: 4 to choose from
  • Filament: 5 to choose from

As it comes

Slot for the top25.60 mm
Band round the edge, thick4.5 mm
Height, top plate to bottom plate31.6 mm
Filament if printed solid, roughly22 g

Build plate: 45 mm as it comes, never more than 256 mm.

What you need to hand

  • A calliper for the thickness of your table top, at the corner.
  • How long you want the arms and how round the outside corner.
  • Your nozzle size and the filament you will print it in.
Your table top

One measurement only your table can give: how thick the top is at the corner, with a calliper.

mm
Measure the top at the corner with a calliper, from its upper face to its lower face. If the edge is thicker or thinner than the rest, measure the edge: that is what the cap slides over.
The cap

How far it runs along each edge and how round its outside corner is. What is filled in is a usual size, not a measurement of yours.

mm
How far the cap runs along each edge, measured from the corner of the top.
mm
How round the outside corner of the cap is. A bigger radius makes the band round the edge thicker, so the corner of your table stays covered.
The printer it will come off

Set these to the nozzle you will print with and the filament you will use; what is filled in is only our usual setting. The nozzle decides whether the walls come out the thickness we drew. The filament does not change the model: it sets the weight estimate, and flags TPU, whose fit we do not simulate.

Finer adjustments
mm
How much wider than the table top the slot is drawn, above and below. We allow for the print coming out a little narrow; more clearance slides on more easily but sits looser.
