Filter intake guard, made to measure

Measure the opening in your tank’s divider glass and we will cut the part to fit it. It is a box, not a flat plate: if a snail parks itself on one face, the other three carry on passing water. Prints mouth-down in PETG, no supports.

From the side — how far it stands off the glass

Drawn from the numbers in the form below, off the same geometry the file is cut from. It is not a photograph, and there is no photograph — every part that leaves here is a different size.

The opening in the glass

Measure the hole in the divider glass, not the filter that goes behind it. Tape across the widest part, twice, and take the larger of the two readings.

mm
Measure the opening in the divider glass, side to side — the opening itself, not the filter and not the trim around it.
mm
The same opening, top to bottom.
A face pressed against glass, or sitting above the waterline, does not need a grille — and the silicone tabs go on the opposite sides. Tell us where the slot is and we will work the rest out.
How the part sits in the tank

How far the box stands off the glass is your call, not the tape’s. Deeper passes more water and is harder to reach past when you clean the tank.

mm
How far the box projects past the glass. Deeper means more grille and more flow — but much past four times the slot’s short side and it becomes a tower.
The printer it will come off

These two are facts about your bench, and both have a right answer already filled in. They change what the bars are allowed to be, which is why we ask.

The nozzle you will print with. It does not change the model — it decides whether the bars come out the size you asked for.
Sets the weight estimate and tells you whether the filament will survive the tank.
Finer adjustments
mm
A target, not a promise: the bars have to divide the opening a whole number of times, so the real gap is worked out from that.
mm
Thicker bars mean fewer of them and tighter gaps. It also has to be at least two extrusion lines wide for your nozzle, or your slicer decides the thickness instead of us.
