Filter outlet diffuser, made to measure

Measure your hose and where it comes through the glass, and we will cut the diffuser to fit that corner. The water leaves through a box of slots instead of a jet, so it goes back in quietly, and a snail sitting on one face cannot block it. Prints back-face-down in PETG, no supports.

The part, drawn to your numbers

From above — how far it comes out from the divider

Drawn from the numbers in the form below, off the same geometry the file is cut from. It is not a photograph, and there is no photograph — every part that leaves here is a different size.

The hose and the corner

Measure the hose itself, across the outside, and the clear space between it and the side glass where it comes through the divider.

mm
Measure across the outside of the hose with a caliper, not the size printed on the packet — 12/16 hose is 16 mm across the outside.
mm
Where the hose comes through the divider: the clear space from the side of the hose to the side glass of the corner.
The face against the side glass is solid, so it can be glued; the others are grilles.
How the part sits in the tank

How far it hangs and how far it comes out are your call. Bigger is quieter and harder to clean round.

mm
The top of the part sits at the waterline, where the top slots ripple the surface. Taller passes more water and keeps more of it underwater, which is quieter.
mm
Deeper means more grille and slower water — and more of the part in the way when you clean the glass.
The filter it runs on

The flow on the box is the most it will ever push, so it is the figure the slots are sized for.

L/h
The figure on the filter or pump box. We size the slots so the water leaves slowly enough not to splash.
The printer it will come off

These two are facts about your bench, and both have a right answer already filled in. They change what the bars are allowed to be, which is why we ask.

The nozzle you will print with. It does not change the model — it decides whether the bars come out the size you asked for.
Sets the weight estimate and tells you whether the filament will survive the tank.
Finer adjustments
mm
How much wider than the hose the socket is printed, across the diameter. Printed holes come out a little small; 0.6 mm is what our own part used. If your printer runs holes tight, go up.
mm
A target, not a promise: the bars have to divide each face a whole number of times, so the real gap is worked out from that.
mm
Thicker bars mean fewer of them and tighter gaps. It also has to be at least two lines of plastic wide for your nozzle, or your slicer decides the thickness instead of us.
