Fish net holder for the glass, made to measure

Measure your glass and the handle of your net, choose how far down the glass you want it held, and we will cut a holder for that tank and that net. It slides over the top edge of the glass, and the handle drops into an upright channel drawn to its own shape — round or flat. It prints upside down, with no supports.

What you need to hand

  • A calliper for the glass, near the top edge where the holder will go.
  • A calliper across the handle of your net, both ways, where the holder will hold it.
  • How far down the glass you want the handle held.
  • Your nozzle size and the filament you will print it in.
Your tank

Measure the glass near the top edge where the holder will go, and choose how far down the glass you want the handle held.

mm
Measure the glass with a calliper, near the top edge where the holder will go. The clip slides over that edge.
mm
How far below the top edge of the glass the channel for the handle runs. The handle is held along all of it.
Your net

Across the handle where the holder will hold it: the wider side and the narrower side. For a round handle, type the diameter in both.

mm
Across the wider side of the net’s handle, measured with a calliper where the holder will hold it. For a round handle, this is its diameter.
mm
Across the narrower side of the handle, at the same place. For a round handle, type the diameter again.
The printer it will come off

Set these to the nozzle you will print with and the filament you will use; what is filled in is only our usual setting, not necessarily yours. The nozzle decides whether the walls come out at least two lines thick. The filament does not change the model: it sets the weight estimate and flags PLA, which is for a dry fit only.

Finer adjustments
mm
How much wider than the glass the slot of the clip is drawn. Looser slides on more easily and moves about more.

How much wider than the handle the channel is drawn, both ways. Looser lets the handle drop in more easily and rattle more.
